Tarnished Gold, a sequel to Lost Silver.

The idea is interesting, playing through the game as your rival Silver, but the game forcing you to be nasty to your Pokemon/having everyone refuse to talk to you/not taking account of the player's feelings makes me roll my eyes. The part with Viridian City is interesting; it's like an actual nightmare Silver could have near-game, with his experiences with his Pokemon triggering him to become a better person. But no. The ending of the creepypasta took the Cheesy So-Called Horror Cliche and Mewtwo gave everyone gory deaths. I mean, what the hell is the point? It's just stupid instead of scary.

Maybe I'll write a fic with my own take on this later. Funny, 'cause I haven't considered writing about Silver before. :o

I dunno, the creepy ending was decently done on its own...to me it just didn't fit considering where the story was going. Up till the creepy room and the blood red all Silver was doing was being a jerk, he didn't actually kill anyone.

You know, I wonder what Pokemon would be like if you could make the decision to do things like steal and whatnot and have people treat you differently because of it.

I agree that the ending doesn't fit though. :|a
It's just like, "Here, have something mostly unrelated! /copout to end game"

I actually liked the idea of the game forcing you to be "evil" - it seemed sort of like a meta deconstruction how most games force you to be "good". A lot of the time, the only option in a game IS the "good" one - you can't abandon a character you hate if the game doesn't want you to, you can't be mean to people, you can't refuse to help people, you can't let people die, you have to save everyone. You're on rails just as much as Silver is in this story, where he's forced to be evil, just like most players are forced to be good. It kind of raises interesting questions about whether or not being good or evil even means anything if you're forced into it, you know? The person playing it certainly didn't start being evil because the game forced them on that path - they still gave their pokemon haircuts and everything. And likewise, if a person playing the game doesn't care about their pokemon, forcing them to do so or telling them that they succeeded through love they never actually had doesn't have any truth to it either. Does "good" or "evil" even mean anything under those kind of circumstances?
I'M LOOKING AT THIS ON MORE OF A META LEVEL THEN PERHAPS I SHOULD

The ending was totally lame though, and felt tacked on. The "don't look" thing could be effective though if it was taken and used for something else though, something less ridiculous.
I actually thought maybe they'd play it again and be deliberately cruel to their pokemon (since they mentioned the haircuts and all) and thus get a different ending, but eh I guess not.

(Also, it was poorly written in general, but a well-written creepypasta is a rare thing so I'm not that surprised)

When you put it that way, it DOES make it very interesting. A lot of games DO force you to do the "right" thing rather than let you be a jerk, so playing a game where it's the other way around would be an eye-opener. :o

But I agree, I hated the ending. This creepypasta had fun ideas, but wasted them in bad writing. Blegh. :P
