Why referring to the Romani people as 'gypsies' is a bad idea, and why you should listen if someone tells you you used a racial slur.

I have to commend this chick for keeping her cool as long as she did while dealing with those bigots. Especially when one of them spouts something like this:

Get ready to be amazed. )

I knew the Romani were hated, but I had no idea it was THIS bad in the present-day.

Burned girl a symbol of Roma hate and hope. Whatever the hell you do, don't read the comments.

A few of them are basically, "WAAAAAAH WHAT ABOUT THE 13-YEAR-OLD WHITE BOY WHO GOT BEATEN UP AND MUGGED BY ROMA KIDS? I DON'T SEE YOU BRINGING THAT UP!!!!11!1" Shut the fuck up. Nobody deserves to be beaten or set on fire. And way to miss the point of the article; trying to burn a child to death, no matter what her race, is immoral. But I guess you don't care, since she would've totally grown up to beat up poor innocent white children for their money if the far-right extremists hadn't intervened. ghjkaghkjdsghkjdshge

I also like how bigots stereotype certain races as "lazy" when they don't even allow jobs for those races in the first place. Or how people see the Roma as "happy nomads" when in reality, they had to keep moving around because they kept being kicked out of their homes by bigots who don't welcome them. GEE I WONDER WHOSE FAULT THAT REALLY IS.

gkjdsghdsakjghkfjdghkfjdb fuck humanity.

Somehow, I had a feeling that checking the comments for an actual secret rather than just the "Adoptables" thread would be an enormous mistake. Nice to know I'm right. (TW: ABLEISM UP THE FUCKING WAZOO)

How nice that while people think I'm a stupid whackjob IRL, I can't tell about my experiences online 'cause I'll just be lumped with SJWs who fake and/or use their disability as an excuse to be assholes while referring to neurotypical people with condescending terms such as "allistics."

Meanwhile, I should stop visiting the "Audience Alienating Premise" because it makes me feel depressed. It feels like the things I want to see more of and/or want to write land smack-dab on that page, which gives me the impression that while I might like them, the majority of humankind doesn't. Making me feel even more weird and isolated. Ugh. Though really, I question some of the things listed, like Madoka. It's hardly "alienated" its audience when it's currently one of the most hyped and enormously popular series right now. :/

One of the Fifty Shades fans said that the last book she read was a SparkNotes book for a college course...and that was fifteen years ago. "Reading is hard," she told me. "There are so many long words. Like 'beautiful.' It doesn't look like it sounds. I hate words like that, and they're everywhere. Fifty Shades is easy to read. And if I don't understand something, I can skip it and not feel like I'm missing anything important. With most books, you can't do that. I have to skip because I don't understand the words, and then I lose track of the story."

After I pulled my jaw up off the floor, I asked her why she didn't look up the words that she didn't understand in a print or an online dictionary.

"That's too hard."

After some conversation, she admitted that looking up the words wasn't the problem; understanding the definitions was. I said that there were dictionaries that had definitions for kids (Merriam-Webster) or in simple language. She just shook her head. It was too hard. Too much effort. And she didn't really want to know what words meant THAT badly. She was just going to stick to "skippable" books like Fifty Shades. "All books should be like that, don't you think?"

Let me guess. Dr. Seuss books are too hard for her to read because they have long and difficult words like "wonderful" or "balancing."

You know what's worse than stupid people? Stupid people who want to stay stupid and make no effort to better themselves because they don't care.

GET THIS IGNORANT TWIT AND EVERYONE ELSE LIKE HER OFF MY PLANET.

here_inmyhead: Raggedy Ann as animated in "Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure." (1977) (WHY PURI WHY)
My mother and I were supposed to be repackaging items. If we were like any NORMAL family, we'd have already finished hours ago. But no. We haven't even started.

I've been waiting. Hours and hours and hours and hours. I wanted to get this over with so her stupid HSN/QVC return packages quit haunting me. What does she do? Down herself in her various pain medications and fall asleep. She tells me to wake her up at a specific time. I do but then she pushes it back for another hour, and so on and so on. OR Dad was supposed to call her and he forgets. Because we've pushed it back to the last minute possible, she wants me to look up the times at two separate post offices and write various thingamajigs and times I can barely keep track of because I've been up this entire fucking time FOR HER and she knows as well as I do that I never look up anything in the phone book and that I never make calls in the first place. So she starts yelling at me how inefficient and rude I am and how if it wasn't for me she would've been ready to take care of the packages (excuse me Mother, I believe I was following directions) and basically blames the whole thing on me.

I THINK THERE'S A REASON WHY I DON'T WANT YOU TALKING TO ME FOR A MILLISECOND, MOTHER. I CAN'T STAND BEING AROUND YOU, AND SITUATIONS LIKE THIS ARE EXACTLY WHY. I actually wanted to get the fucking packages done.

Maybe because of Mom's stupid shopping addiction that I'm so frugal with money and almost never buy anything for myself unless it's related to my birthday/Christmas.

I have no icon that can possibly express the inexplicable rage I am feeling right now.

Thanks Dad, for yelling at me for following the exact directions and doing the right thing. Hang your own fucking shirts, I have the right to refuse to touch them after doing it OH SO WRONG, especially with the directions you've given me and that you would have yelled at me for doing otherwise. I hope you get strangled by a wire hanger and let go when you're blue in the face and sobbing. You owe me a great BIG apology.

I fucking hate GIMP.

See, this is why I never make icons/macros/sprites/what-have-you anymore. And why I've made no progress on my fangame whatsoever.

Come to think of it, I haven't written anything either because my computer refuses to acknowledge I own Microsoft Word. And I hate all the other programs (WordPad, Notepad) and yes, that includes OpenOffice. I fucking hate this.

What a fucking piece of shit this day is. Don't you get the feeling where all you want to do is yell at something? I feel it right now. 90% I lovingly thank my mother for, she never stops talking and she never leaves me alone. I listen to her, she goes on and on in circles in irrelevent tl;dr forever and ever, and if I tell her to stop, she screeches and lectures me. Either way, nothing good ever comes out of my mother speaking a single word to me, which is every single fucking day. I get a moment's solace from walking the dogs and listening to music, only for Mom to put all my feeling better and calming down to waste when I get home.

I just loooooooooooove how my computer decides not to run its most important programs too. lolololol
