So during my quest of Raggedy Ann & Andy research, I discovered this song sung by Liza Minnelli. I couldn't find the lyrics to the song anywhere, so I interpreted it the best I can. I'm poor at making out lyrics... anyone please help me out with a couple lines?

Oh Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy
Were fashioned one day from one little pile of rags
Just a pile of rags and small painted on smiles

Oh Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy
Had hair that was made from one little ball of yarn
Just a ball of yarn in the same moppity style

Even the buttons used for their eyes
Came from the same old box full of buttons
Buttons for eyes, round with surprise
And sing
(?)

Oh raggedy friend with raggedy feelings
Exactly like yours, a someone for you to love
Made for you to love with your whole raggedy heart

They dangled their legs
They dreamed of a nursery
With children and toys in one sunny little shelf
Just a little shelf they could share, never to part

Ready for Christmas
Freckles and all
(?)
Oh what a pair
When they're in the toy store
One day a child looked up and smiled
And sing
(?)

A raggedy friend with raggedy feelings
Exactly like his, a someone for him to love
Made for him to love with his whole raggedy heart

Then Raggedy Ann saw Raggedy Andy
Put into a box and tied with a ribbon bow
Where oh where was he going?
On a lonely shelf, dangling by herself
She would never know...

This song makes me *baaaaaaaaaaw*. It starts off sweet and nostalgic, then it slaps you with a sad ending. Best way to describe it: FOREVER ALONE.gif.

...Uh. On a lighter note, Geno figurine. DO WANT. Except it's $75.00 and expensive. *sob*

I think it's
They dangled their legs
They dreamed of a nursery

and
Ready for Christmas
(Something; It sounded like rubbles or rebels) and all!

Ahh, those lines make more sense. I dunno where I got "pruned" from. :o *edits*

Waaaah. Singers are hard to understand sometimes. ;;

It does! It sounded meshed together, so I had a hard time making out that line, but I knew it was three words. Thanks! :o

A song I've known and loved since childhood. Really sweet and beautiful, and quite deep. And sad, of course :'( . . I just added these to a lyrics website that didn't know them (it might start off with 'Oh' but I think I remember it was 'A' in the lyrics printed in the album liner notes, and it sounds kind of like it, plus I like it that way better)

A Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy
were fashioned one day
from one little pile of rags
just a pile of rags
and a small painted on smile

Oh, Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy
had hair that was made
from one little ball of yarn
just a ball of yarn
in the same moppity style

Even the buttons used for their eyes
came from the same old box full of buttons
buttons for eyes, round with surprise
at seeing . . .

A Raggedy friend with raggedy feelings
exactly like yours
a someone for you to love
made for you to love
with your whole raggedy heart

They dangled their legs
they dreamed of a nursery
with children and toys
and one sunny little shelf
just a little shelf
they could share never to part

Ready for Christmas
freckles and all, oh what a pair
when they're in the toy store
one day a child looked up and smiled
at seeing . . .

A raggedy friend with raggedy feelings
exactly like his

made for him to love
with his whole raggedy heart

Thank you so much for this! "A Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy" as opposed to "Oh Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy" seems to make much more sense anyway, implying that they're another set of Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls as opposed to the originals in Gruelle's books. :)
