Lord. I forgot how mind-numbingly STUPID the cast in the Pokemon Anime is. How the hell are they not dead!?

Note to Iris: you were much better in the games than the show, even if I couldn't understand what the heck you were saying. DO NOT call a character a "child" when you cannot prove you are more intelligent than the Anime's "mechanics" and 99.98% of the cast. In other universes, we call this "hypocrisy."

Gaaaaaaaaaaah. It's things that grate me like this that remind me to get up off my ass and quit leaving my Darkrai fangame/fic to rot. Which itself is a giant deconstruction of PokeMovies, though mainly Rise of Darkrai itself. Though I wonder how I can deconstruct "Pokemon Anime logic" without coming across as soapboxing. I mean, standing around without offering to heal a dying Pokemon is really stupid.

So... HOW LONG WOULD SOMEONE LIKE ASH KETCHUM AND HIS FRIENDS SURVIVE SHADOWGATE?

Fffff I think it hasn't really gotten in Iris' head that, you know, 'TOSHI IS A FOREIGNER AND (FOREVER) TEN YEARS OLD. Of course he's a kid... he just so happened to experience things beyond her imagination, and I doubt he told her anything about his life outside from Unova. *Which reminds me, I've got to start working on that Unova AU of mine, with 'Toshi training to become a FRONTIER BRAIN. And language barriers. And nonsensical-except-for-Sorakh family relations. And actual aging. And...*

Ffff it depends on whenever they're playing the game or living the game. Because I can kinda see the trio go all Freelance Astronauts on it, late at night, hyped on Bawls and bored out of their minds. Just like me right now. Which is why I'm blabbering about stuff.

I can't fathom anyone beating this game back in the day without a guide, unless they were legends or something. I commend them!

My sister and I had an NES cartridge of a related game called Deja Vu. I wonder what happened to it. :o

Now I want the AVGN to review it! XD Gotta love it when he's frustrated over good games that happen to be impossible to beat, like Ninja Gaiden and Battletoads. ;D

I think the main reason for this is the anime tries to cater to people who don't play the games and as a result, thinks it has to explain every single little detail to the viewer and the easiest way to do that is make everyone really, really, really dumb so someone has to explain what's going on to them and by extension, the viewer.

Though a lot of anime falls into this trap, to be fair. Most anime that feature fighting tend to have someone watching on the sidelines explain in detail exactly the physics of the move that other dude is doing. :p

It's not so much that, actually. I'm talking general intelligence, using Rise of Darkrai as an example. Why didn't Alice just play her grass whistle when Palkia and Dialga were upset, since it worked on the upset Pokemon in the garden? Would it pain the animators to show her trying the flute on Palkia and Dialga, realize it doesn't work, THEN have the characters come up with the idea of playing the disc at the tower? No. Instead, she screams at two homicidal dragons to STOP FIGHTING RITE NAO (and when has that ever worked? Someone's clearly not genre savvy. :P), instantly setting her up as a target who, if they weren't tumbling towards her, the dragons would've blasted her head off if Darkrai hadn't saved her.

Let's not forget Ash trying to punch out Mewtwo or lunging his body at machines he knows has electrical barriers on them. :P

Less to do with Pokemon mechanics and everything to do with common sense. I realize it's prevalent in a ton of other Animes too, but none so much as Pokemon, when by now, they really should know better. Augh. @.@;;;
