Damn [livejournal.com profile] nerrin, I'm lame. ;; I don't have a lot of stuff saved on architecture/scenery. ;; I hope what I have makes up for it?

Crystal Cave of the Giants!

You know the Hidden Palace Zone and all those giant crystal areas in Sonic games? This is the real deal. I remember NetRaptor posting this in her journal and my jaw dropping from the sheer unbelievable of it all.

...Oh screw this, I might as well hunt for photos.

Anyone seen the Jirachi movie? They based Fauns (aka Forina in the dub) off this gorgeous site in Hunan Province, China known as Wulingyuan. Look at those pillars! :o

Photobucket

Obviously needs mist, nomnomnom~ ♥

So green! I'm a sucker for steep/canyon/plataeu places like this. :)

Photobucket

Daw, there's a little road.

THE reason I want to go to Barcelona. Darkrai movie be damned, this is incredible. Look how nautical it is! It's like Gaudi carved this out of a stalagmite in a cave or something. And hundreds of years later, it still isn't done. You'll see a ton of construction pieces as we move along. :o

It's like the Wizard of Oz or M1!Magicant here. :o

Photobucket

Wow, just... wow. Let's not waste anytime and go in! Are those hands sticking out of the stone?

Photobucket

"What had disturbed Pablo Picasso to have damned Gaudi to hell? I was in Barcelona to find out."

"Arguably the most famous masterpiece by architect Antonio Gaudí, Sagrada Família was built to chronicle the history of Christianity. Upon approach, its sheer size and labyrinth of gothic spires instantly transport travelers to an otherworldly dimension."

Photobucket

A staunch Catholic, Gaudí designed Sagrada Familia to boast eighteen towers; 12 representing Christ’s apostles, 4 for the evangelists, one for Mary, and one for Jesus."

Photobucket

Photobucket

"Had this prolific work of Gaudí intimidated Picasso? I pondered. I was finally staring at one of the most hideous buildings in the world, according to George Orwell. A winding staircase led me to the top of those spires, where I was humbly treated to a panoramic view of Barcelona."

Photobucket

"Construction on the temple began over 120 years ago and based on Gaudí’s initial vision, is nowhere near completion."

Photobucket

"'My client is in no hurry. God has all the time in the world', the famous architect was noted as saying."

Photobucket

"Open daily from 9am, travelers can wander its towers, crypt, and interiors, and visit a museum exhibiting models of Gaudí’s final vision."

Photobucket

The building looks spooky, in a way. :o

I have no idea what this manga is. Sounds Lovecraftian though, nomnomnom~

It's a real-life Giegue! Gotta love phenomena like this. :o

It's so incredibly difficult to believe that these places are real...seriously that cathedral is the EXACT reason why I want to visit Barcelona, and there are so many other things there to see as well - and that area in China, oh my god, those pictures. Just. INCREDIBLE. Things like this make me so speechless at their beauty and...it's just...wow. I'm awed.

Seriously, Barcelona, Rome, Athens... there's so much beautiful stuff out there! I'd love to visit the Pyramids except there's a lot of crime and tourists would get shot down. :( Such a shame, really.

gsghsgthk Wulingyuan blows me away. It's like everything I love about nature piled into one. ;;

Wow, that was so cool! The human holes make interesting architecture on their own and it made the ending a lot creepier. :o I don't understand why the people would fall into their own holes though, knowing what would happen if they went inside. :/ That's the only thing that bugs me really.
