Ben Hurst

Great. Just great. First Satoshi Kon, now Ben Hurst.

I feel like someone punched me in the gut. As bitter as I've been against SatAM's fanbase for eons and how late I've gotten into the series myself, it's clear Ben showed a lot of love for the series and the fans, and his writing and dedication is spectacular. I only wish I could've met him in person, because he sounds like an incredible guy and very caring to boot.

I only wish I hadn't gotten into SatAM so late. It makes me feel guilty. Kind of like a small part of me wants to ask Hurst to forgive me, though I haven't done anything to him.

I doubt the series will die because of the amount of loyalty its fans have for it. We can thank Hurst for that.

I just found out about it on SSMB, too. How sad. It boggles my brain that the guy doesn't have a Wikipedia page. To me, he was one of the most influential writers in Sonic's past. As a SatAM fan, I'm really saddened by his passing... and so young! ):

It's never too late to get into SatAM, though, and I'm happy to hear that you're giving the series a chance. Sure, there's a lot that's very silly and even irritating about the show, but it has some beautifully redeeming qualities too ♥ As I'm sure you've found out.

Oh, I purchased the DVD set and watched the entire thing long ago actually. As cheesy as Sonic's 90s slang gets, I still love it to bits and pieces. As long as I'm going to mourn, I might as well have an icon with my favorite SatAM character for the occasion. *cling*
