There's just something about them that makes me irrationally angry. :/ Over at FF.net, fangirls write their summaries featuring fics where Bowser's a perfect-but-misunderstood gentleman and Peach secretly loves him and can see his Good Heart Inside, and doesn't give a damn about Mario who made enormous sacrifices to rescue her, but wait he's really a selfish lech no wonder Peach can't stand him! Mario would never understand the depths of their forbidden love! GEE I WONDER WHY. Maybe because Bowser rips apart her kingdom and all she holds dear while trying to force her into marriage? Because twu wuv, hearts and kisses, and romance is being ordered around and locked up by a giant reptile, where you're left with nothing to do in your scary cell but cry for hours. So Bowser developed feelings for her. But Peach does not reciprocate them! The closest she got to caring for him is sympathy. Other than that, when has she ever gotten close to him? When does she ever admit a positive quality of him that can be interpreted as beyond platonic? BUT BOWSER AND MOMMA PEACH HAD KIDZ SO THATZ TWU WUV!111!!1 No it is not. No. It is. Not. Ask any teenage mother knocked up by her boyfriend who bailed out before the baby was born. For all we know, the Koopalings could've been brought by Mr. Stork, just like how Bowser was delivered and cared for by Kamek. Bowser could've been bribing birds for kids so he could have a successor, or an easier way of getting at Peach. (7 kids, especially bratty as they are, are super hard to handle. XD!) He tricked Bowser Jr. into believing Peach was his mother. Which does not mean Bowser, Peach and Bowser Jr. are automatic family! If they are, then damn, it's a family built by deceit, unwillingness, and lies. This is the stuff I hate and can't stand, and seeing it passed of as superficial 50s smoochie-woochies pisses me off. Not what I want in my Mario games, kthnx. God, I can't even like Bowser and Peach in a dysfunctional relationship. Peach feels nothing for him, and no sparks fly from her head. No lust, just disgust. She thinks he's a monster and a villain: not because she can't see "the good inside", but because of his actions: hurting her friends, wreaking havoc among her people, and fully intent on snatching her kingdom in his reptilian grasp. There's nothing for me here. I can't feel it.

Bowser/Mario, on the other hand, that I could play with. Because Mario reacts to Bowser's advances beyond his usual bad, and there's more subtext for me to believe in. Strange couple, and may squick a few: "MARIOZ A PLUMBER!!11!1" Didn't stop Mario/Peach. "BOWZERZ A REPLTLE!!11!!" Didn't stop the Bowser/Peach shippers. "ITZ GAY!!11!" So's Bowser/Peach. *shot* I kid. But we've got Peasley/Luigi, right? Right? :D *cough* Okay, maybe Mario yaoi isn't popular aside from that pairing. But I'd MUCH rather have evil turtle hugs over a fantasy I see happening only in Bowser's dreams. The closest it gets is one-sided. :/

I end my rant with this: "So long, dear Bowser!"

But what she said, a lot of the L/D shipper kiddies are VERY protective of their pairing and won't accept anything else! Not that bothersome though, just kind of silly, haha. I'm one of the rare few who ships both myself. Maybe not Daisy/Luigi as much as I used to, but I do like the thought of Daisy being dominant over Luigi, because SHE SO WOULD.

I HATE fics like that. No, Bowser is not a Misunderstood Perfect Angel-it's canon that he likes being bad and no matter how much he likes Peach, for him to even have a chance he'd have to change his entire personality and he just won't do that. :D Onesided Bowser/Peach can be poignant and nice, and I DO like Bowser/Mario/Peach as a quirky crazy guilty pleasure threesome. But twosided Bowser/Peach is made fluffy and happy and ignores the very foundations of his treatment of her and her revulsion towards him.

And Peach did NOT birth the Koopalings kljskfjdhsfkdjhf It just...no, she's 1/6 his size and there's no way and don't Koopas hatch from eggs anyway? Like, shelled eggs? Humans do not lay shelled eggs. :P

I can't understand it either. Bowser is PROUD of being bad! I agree with everything you say; making two-sided Bowser/Peach work is VERY difficult and would take a lot of work, but not a lot of people are willing to go that path and take the easy way out. :(

I KNOW ARGH. And yes! Reptiles come from eggs! Besides, considering we're not counting the Baby Bowsers and this is Bowser Jr. and the KOOPALINGS we're talking about, I imagine Peach'd be in enormous pain and have lost her figure by now. :o

Sadly, that's the case with a lot of difficult and complex pairings. D: They take a lot more work and development than most fans can be bothered with. Zutara and Matthew/Guy from FE7 come to mine.

For a moment I thought you just hated that pairing in general, but I see where you're coming from xD No, Peach will NEVER have romantic, mooshy-wooshy feelings for Bowser. Peach sees Bowser as a brute and a bully, and platonic feelings is the closest she'll ever give him. Besides, Bowser's 'love' is more like crush/infatuation attributed to her being a princess of a kingdom. Also, he needs a mother-figure to take care of the kids.

I agree with those who posted above. I do kinda like the pairing, but it is one-sided. It's definitely not the way you describe it. Like others said, the most Peach is gonna feel is platonic for Bowser, most likely in the Paper Mario series where Bowser isn't a total RAWR KIDNAP GRR character. I do think Mario/Bowser is a fun crack ship too. xD And yea...Peach can't give birth to reptilians...

Agreed. The only way I could see Bowser/Peach is if it's one-sided, and even then, it's more of light-hearted comedy from Bowser's part. I'm just kinda :/ over it. A favorite OS pairing I like, TEC/Peach, it was clear TEC loved her in the end and was willing to sacrifice everything he had, even if it meant she loved someone else and would go back to Mario. And Peach recognized that. Bowser/Peach doesn't have that same poignant and selfless feel for me. :(

I hate that pairing >:( Yes, I AM one of those people who wrote a Bowser/Peach fic like, ONCE. But I'm one of those people who is willing to try writing a pairing at least once to get the feel of it, or write something just for the sake of trying to make people uncomfortable.

However, in my further defense, I never knew at the time that that was such a popular pairing. It made me look at the Mario fandon in a completely different light. A dark light.

Though for some reason, at the same time, I just can't get the feel of Mario/Peach. I don't know :( I guess I see them together, but for some reason it still doesn't seem like my cup of tea. Lol bachelors forever XD;

Now, Luigi/Daisy, now THAT'S a pairing imo. Or Luigi/Peasley.

Haha, it's like the time I wrote Jeff/Paula. XD I still like the ficlet, but the pairing itself now makes me curl up and squirm. I see too many shallow plotlines sprouting from it, all that I despise seeing in books and movies and it makes me uncomfortable.

Damn, Mario fandom went to hell lately, huh? God I wish they'd stop all that bullshit about Vivian being male in Japan, when it was a cruel joke made by Beldam in the first place.
