Jul. 4th, 2008 12:30 amI've been getting junk mail lately. Someone would respond to an older post of mine and comment gibberish completely off-topic. Stuff like this:
QOUkvpNsYQGNCsVfr
this post is fantastic hotels in venice cheap hotel at orlando 544621
I roll my eyes, click the X, mark as spam, delete. It happens again the next day, same entry in which I call humanity barbarians. AGAIN it happens. I had to comment-lock the damn post.
Tonight, I open my mail to find someone commenting on a thank-you for a friend for one of my Poo/Paula fics. Here's what I said:
Aww, I'm glad I could make you happy. X333 I love rousing various emotions among readers~ ♥
Innocent comment, right? Anonymoose here decides to come back:
I'm a hott chick and I totally just got off to that. Sweet!
...What do I fucking care.
Why am I getting these? Is it because I'm open about my feelings for Hedgie in my journal? If so, goes to prove women are as much as pigs as men are. Is it time I start locking my journals from anonymous comments? The last thing I want is to be taken advantage of. Once is a mere flick, twice is an annoyance, third I'm pissed off.

Date: 2008-07-04 05:41 am (UTC)I would suggest going friends only, even though you shouldn't have to, it seems like the best way to avoid the problem.
Or you could make your journal log ip addresses? Either way, this sucks and you don't deserve to just put up with it.
Off topic, but I love It's the Fear. ♥

Date: 2008-07-04 06:09 am (UTC)They're spam bots. They're programmed to make these posts anywhere a search engine can hit.
That's why I have Anonymous comments turned off on my journal. And use the option to reduce my journal's appearance in seach engines. And I've never had any comments like that, despite my journal being almost entirely public. =3b
