[Error: unknown template qotd] Knowing the creative spirit in me, I can't bring myself to what I wish I did write. Music is so inspiring to me I can't just take away what those musicians gave me and rewrite history that I was the one who inspired much passion in myself, you know?
I can tell you what my favorite lyrics are at the moment though:
And is it right, butterfly?
They like you better framed and dried
+
Daddy dear, if i can kill one man, why not two?
Both from the same song, "Butterfly" by Tori Amos.
Here's an interesting question. Notice that you don't like a certain movie but love a song that's written for its soundtrack? Like the movie "Butterfly" comes from, Higher Learning. It was a pretentious whiny movie a waste of my time, a chock full of stereotypes and preachy outdated views on rape and racism and even homosexuality and relationships that make me want to punch a wall. The best scene in the entire damn thing was the ending, where for once I didn't feel like strangling the leads for being annoying wangsty idiots. At that scene by the fountain, that song was playing.
I left for home frustrated, but completely moved. Not from the movie, but the song.
Those two lyrics had more meaning for me than the entire damn film itself.
At least I rewatched a good movie with the family today~ ♥ Puri loves Fern Gully~ ♥♥♥♥♥

Date: 2008-06-17 02:08 pm (UTC)toxic love's lyrics are delightfully sketch sometimes, or so i've heard. :X i was disappointed to learn that fern gully actually didn't do very well; something about the moral being "too green." ...>( bah, critics, what do they know. 8D

Date: 2008-06-18 03:20 am (UTC)Also, the moral wasn't THAT preachy. I've seen so much worse. Plus it can't be more important now, what with global warming and all! :o
