[Error: unknown template qotd] Knowing the creative spirit in me, I can't bring myself to what I wish I did write. Music is so inspiring to me I can't just take away what those musicians gave me and rewrite history that I was the one who inspired much passion in myself, you know?

I can tell you what my favorite lyrics are at the moment though:

And is it right, butterfly?
They like you better framed and dried

+

Daddy dear, if i can kill one man, why not two?

Both from the same song, "Butterfly" by Tori Amos.

Here's an interesting question. Notice that you don't like a certain movie but love a song that's written for its soundtrack? Like the movie "Butterfly" comes from, Higher Learning. It was a pretentious whiny movie a waste of my time, a chock full of stereotypes and preachy outdated views on rape and racism and even homosexuality and relationships that make me want to punch a wall. The best scene in the entire damn thing was the ending, where for once I didn't feel like strangling the leads for being annoying wangsty idiots. At that scene by the fountain, that song was playing.

I left for home frustrated, but completely moved. Not from the movie, but the song.

Those two lyrics had more meaning for me than the entire damn film itself.

At least I rewatched a good movie with the family today~ ♥ Puri loves Fern Gully~ ♥♥♥♥♥

i once heard someone describe tim curry's voice as mix of "sex and bourbon." well uh i dunno about that, but i LOVE this little number. /D

hmm, higher learning, will remember to steer clear of that... the only tori amos song i've heard is "cruel," which i like a lot actually. huh. wonder why i never stopped to smell the roses more before, 'cause it sounds like i should. :oa

(aaaaa cute CUTE icon 8DDD)

oh! and i wanted to reply with what song lyrics i wish i'd written, although i think you have a very good point there. just to play along, i'll say "wild sage" by the mountain goats. (i'm kind of obsessed with it, i guess. LISTENING TO IT RIGHT NOW. XD) and because i love to share music:

wild sage blowing~

(and more tiny parenthesis! 8D; please excuse the imeem link! youtube sadly failed me.)

aaaaa thank you puri! ♥

toxic love's lyrics are delightfully sketch sometimes, or so i've heard. :X i was disappointed to learn that fern gully actually didn't do very well; something about the moral being "too green." ...>( bah, critics, what do they know. 8D

"I feel good, a special kind of horny." Oh, movies those days! ♥ But that's strange. A lotta the people I seen online absolutely love Fern Gully and have a ton of fond memories of it. :o Proves to show that critics don't know what they're talking about. XD

Also, the moral wasn't THAT preachy. I've seen so much worse. Plus it can't be more important now, what with global warming and all! :o

I know, so bizarre! :O My buddies said the same.

And you have a good point! I feel lucky to have grown up with such neat movies. Fern Gully and We're Back! are some of my all-time faves. ♥

I forgot how gorgeous some of the animation was too. Like those flowers popping up and blooming and when Crysta and Zack were skipping over pools of water. :o
