A.K.A., Disney will never make an animated film ever again. From now on, it's all computers and 3-D stuff.

It makes me upset really... most of the reasons described here are just horrid. The lack of living artists part, I can understand. But the leader just... told the company's most talented artists to jerk off instead of trying to consider their feelings. And he tried reanimating the older Disney films into 3-D. Finally, there's this:

But don't expect many of them to latch onto new projects too quickly, considering Michael Eisner's official decree: "2-D is dead."

No. 2-D is NOT dead. 2-D is forever.

It's strange really; I grew up with animation all my life, particularly Disney. (My favorite movies by them happen to be "The Emperor's New Groove" and "Beauty and the Beast") One of my earliest memories was waking up, wandering out of bed, and entering the living room, seeing Mom and a T. V. The T. V. was playing "The Jungle Book" at the part where Kaa first appeared and started hypnotizing Mowgli and Bageera. (SP?) All throughout childhood, I would watch Disney movies. Over and over and over again. And I would never get sick of them; I loved them so much. I also liked a few other animated stuff, (Don Bluth comes to mind) but it was mostly Disney otherwise.

Suddenly, it's like... my childhood has been thrown out the window and eaten by Chain Chomps. Well, whatever the 3-D animation would look like, I hope it's something spectacular. Several of my friends come to mind, such as Cammi and Ivyna. They draw excellent stuff, and guess what they're made on? Cell-shading, Oekaki, Photoshop: all computer. Not to mention the cinema scenes in "Final Fantasy X" and "Kingdom Hearts" were gigantic eye candy. So here's to hoping that future Disney movies would be like that... and to keep all the other good qualities too. (Music, plot, characters, etc.) Besides, whenever I want to see the "ol' 2-D stuff", I'll always have my Anime'. ^_^ *hums the "Fruits Basket" opening song*

Now, for the plus side:

I love "Wario Ware Inc.". I really and truly do. Heck, I've played the game until the batteries ran out. Then I used an AC Adapter and started playing again. XD Gods, there's so much to do in that game, and all of it (except for a certain few parts) are so damn fun. I am also convinced of this: Wario is insane. That, and foul, greedy, disgusting, (C'mon, he picks his nose for crying out loud! XD) nasty, hopeless, etc. etc. etc. Yet, despite all these qualities, I can't help but be amused by him. Like him, too. o_O If he says "Faster!" or some evil, high-pitched, giggly laugh (At a certain microgame) one more time, I'm going to laugh so hard until my chest hurts.

My Gameboy Advance SP has just been stamped with "Wario Ware Inc." stickers. Particularly Kat, my favorite character in the game, (Who looks a whole lot like Chiriko from "Fushigi Yuugi", only with pinker hair, female, and a different outfit) 9-Volt, whose microgames kick arse (Nintendo classics!) and reminds me of a video game fanboy, and Dribble and Spitz, two cool taxi drivers. :D Finally, there's the "Wario Ware Inc." and the "Rated G for Greed" sticker, and that's all I can remember.

Hmm... maybe I should make a Kat icon. That, and/or include her sister, Ana, too. ^^ Oh, and I love jump rope. "Jumping Forever"= my God. XD And I wanna figure out who sings those pretty Japanese songs and their translations. The song that played in the background while you played the Nature mini-games was translated per jump you make in "Jumping Forever", but forgot to translate a word. ("kokoro"). *sigh* Ah well, still a purdy song. :D

Geez, I rambled on about "Wario Ware Inc." forever. o_O I'd go and get the hi-scores on the minigames inside the Grid, but right now, I've got a lot of writing to do: a certain unfinished CWCR chapter is waiting for me, and I've got a rant to work on for [livejournal.com profile] hated_character!

Sadly, I have to give up my nightlife because of school, so I'd have to go to bed around 9:00 P.M. or something like that so I'm not dead tired when I go. I still hope I can talk to my nighttime buddies, though. Friends forever, right?

Anyway, a parting message to this entry, written by Wario (Gack! I'm possessed!) and a few madlibs from me:

Inspected by Wario
"Wario's Toast"

Here's to you, my ol' crummy buddy!
It's been rotten to know ya! But don't be hungry!
You got trash! I got laughs!
My wallet is full, and my friends are trouble!
Gotta go now, so here's to greedy in your sleepy!

I'm all for technology and trying new things. But I can't stand people saying "Oh, this OLD way of doing something is so dead!" when there's NOTHING so wrong with it except it's "not stylish" and "too boring" for this "hip, super-kewl" new world. >< Doing away with a certain type of vehicle or lead paint because it's potentially dangerous? Fine. Doing away with a PERFECTLY FINE art form just because the NEW one is "cooler"? STUPID!

It's simple: 3D movies are making the money (see Shrek, Monsters Inc., Toy Story 1 & 2, and Finding Nemo) and 2D films aren't (Pokémon 4 & 5, Cowboy Bebop, Sinbad, Treasure Planet), even if they're in limited release.

The only 2D film to do well in the past few years was Lilo & Stitch.

Well, that makes more sense. *nods* I know that some changes are going on, and usually for the better when it comes to technology advances, but I guess some of the things in that article and how I've taken it shocked me a bit. Guess we gotta move on with life, right? :D

Speaking of which, "Lilo and Stitch" was cute.
