Open Letter!

Dear Squeenix,

ENOUGH FINAL FANTASY VII AND KINGDOM HEARTS GAMES ALREADY.

Seriously. I can only take so much. It's one thing to see the same goddamn Naminé icon over and over again on flists and people debating the same old topics since FF7 first came out on PSX, but... geez. I can understand Advent Children. I get Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix. But geez... enough is enough. Yeah, a 14th Organization member. There goes all continuity whatsoever. It's just... let the games end. It's just milking the life out of these games and beating them like an aging horse (not before applying plastic surgery to remove the wrinkles though. Don't forget adding synthetic bones!). Are they catering to frothing fans, money, both or what? If you ask me, these multiple continuations and sequels are just spiraling FF7 and KH with the fate of Land Before Time.

Maybe I'm jaded by the past couple years where I go to the theater and see nothing new: it's SHREK THE THIRD, OCEANS THIRTEEN, POTC3: AT WORLDS END, TITLE YOU NEVER WANT TO SEE AGAIN NUMBER 5, HALLOWEEN: THE REMAKE, etc. It's gotten routine. I'm tired of it. I want to see an entire year in which something doesn't have a number stamped at the end of its name.

I loved PotC: AWE, though... and Shrek 3 (ARTIE~!), though I agree that they should just stop because nothing can top 2.

I'm actually excited about 358/2 and Birth By Sleep (I can do without Coded). What pisses me off is that Nomura spreads them across all those goddamned consoles. I can't play BBS because I don't have the PSP and I never intend to get one. It sucks. D=

Yeah, AWE was one of the better sequels. I never saw Shrek 3 though, mainly because I had no interest after 2. XDDD;;;

Out of all the new KH games, I gotta say 358/2 interests me most. At least it's nice to get more insight into the Organization, am I right? :o

My boyfriend took me out to see AWE even though I've never seen the other two PotC movies. I really need to see those.

I also saw Wild Hogs and The Simpsons Movie. Heh. Those were good.

Urrgh, mucho ditto on the FF7 front, I loved and still love the original, but the spin offs are kinda annoying. Crisis Core seems interesting enough, but I don't care about new characters, I don't care about plot devices being shoe horned in so that more games can be made. Advent Children wasn't even all that great (the main crew were completely in the background) If they really want to make more money from FF7, then I'd be happy with a prettified PS3 remake (as the original has aged a bit) or even a portable DS remake.

And when I say "remake", I mean prettified graphics and better translation, not shoving in the origin of Kadaj and his motley crew or whatever. Rant rant rant!

KH, I'd agree with too. Although I don't mind main sequels, the spin offs annoy me. And I'm one of the few people who don't give a rat's ass about the Organisation.
