here_inmyheadMore FE playing, whee. Hector's the bomb, but then again, I'm a sucker for dudes with dark blue hair. XDDD! (That, and he keeps reminding me of my favorite character from the Illiad. I fucking HATED Helen, Paris and Achilles. (Thus one of my many billion reasons why The Odyssey >>>>>>>> The Illiad any seven days of the week) IT WAS ALL ABOUT HECTOR BABY. I love how snarky Hector gets too, hee hee. ^^ Got my first support too! :o Hector and Eliwood basically being silly. XD Dorcas died again, but not like I really care about him. XD Everyone else is good and roaring, and I think Lowen is adorable though he hasn't spoken yet. It's the hair. :o I kept Matthew in tip-top shape and he's doing great~! Naturally I called back Erk, so he's kicking ass as ever and I have two healers now. Mmm, Priscilla. Mmmmm, horseback healing. *________* Basically kept playing until Lyn accidently died and got the Game Over screen. Too tired to go through the whole battle again. XD Note to self: don't forget the "D:" face you made then the thugs crushed a village. Never let that happen again--you miss out on super cool weapons and self-dignity. XD
Hedgie and I also fangirled~! ^_____^ Since it was late at her time, we had the option between discussing Earthbound or the Yaoi Pr0n Simulator Silver Chaos (which I just downloaded today. :o Haven't played it yet though, I'm too addicted and in love with FE. XDDD!) Guess what we chose? Why, Earthbound of course! :o I introduced Hedgie to the Chosen 4 and everything~ <333
Did a study on EBfic at the Earthbound Fanfiction Database. You know, Top 25 fics and such. I'm completely clueless except for around two fics wow. XDDD! Does anyone else feel intimidated when it comes to reading this sort of stuff. Crushing thoughts like, "Oh shit, I can NEVER be that good. DDD:" or "Wow, I feel SO original now." You think you have your super awesome groundbreaking fanfic writing skills, only to realize someone else did it first. XDDD;;;So far so good though! Nobody's taken the idea that *knockknockonwood* that Jeff's mother is a talking stopwatch! AND I CREATED AN AUTISTIC CHARACTER HAHA. Albeit, not really developed yet, but still!
On one hand, it's comforting I get confident and blurt stuff like, "Bleh! I can do better than that!" XDDDD Like with Ness and Paula. While I agree that there's no right and wrong way to characterize Ness, I just can't... see him as being dark or broody or angsty at all. I see him as a regular kid: cheery, fun-loving, determined/stubborn--an easygoing sweet guy with a big mouth sometimes. He loves his friends and family and thinks with his heart, seeing things in other people that others don't recognize (part of it could be because of PSI, great empathy, or both). And well... Ness is complex and I like that. Not saying he can't brood or angst (lord knows my Ness gets pretty ticked off. XDD!), it's like... keep it realistic. Keep it balanced. :o
As for Paula, I don't want to overglorify her. So I like a point they also brought up--we like Paula because she's normal. Out of the Chosen 4, she's the easiest to relate to and identify with. Again, I try to keep Paula balanced--I see Paula as someone who can stand on her own, so it makes me groan when it comes to Pining-For-Ness!Paula. (If anything, it's the other way around, and at a comical/light-hearted angle: it's Ness who hits on Paula while she goes "Pfft. Whatever" and ignores/is completely oblivious to him. I mean, come on: Paula is in BLATANT denial. {See: Game's ending when you escort her home.} Not to say they don't share mutual feelings though~ <333) Ahem, back to Paula. Puri!Paula is polite, stable, mature, no nonsense, and basically keeps the boys together, aka keeps Ness and Jeff from ripping each other to shreds. XD In ways, she's like a mini-adult, responsible and looking after everybody--and what she doesn't know is that she may be trying to "grow up" too soon. :o Ness does wonders on helping her laugh and "taking it easy" there, cue fluff and friendship and awww.
So... Goddess!Paula? NO.
According to fic experiences, that just screams MARY-SUE in big bold capital letters. DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD:
It's cheesy enough Elizabeth was thought to be Calypso in PotO: AWE. So this is just... no. That just kills all the normalcy and humanity Paula had, and turns her into one of those Destiny RPG Heroines that you want to punch in the face of. NO GODDESSES. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
