You know, I think people are missing the point of Mephiles's character. "Duh, he's a Shadow recolor!" Exactly! He's supposed to be a copy of Shadow! But don't forget his name is Mephiles the Dark, not Mephiles the Hedgehog. Meaning? He's a formless evil incarnate. It's been a while since I reviewed the game, but if I recall, he needed a body--to top it off, turn the entire world against a person and incarcerate him. Two birds with one stone, taking shape of someone who's a wanted man anyway. I'd advise against mocking him though. Mephiles will not only see to it you'll die a horrible torture, he'll crumble your mind in his crystalline fingers. He's that freaky.

In another topic, here's something that's been poking me lately:

Not liking yaoi does not mean you become a fandom professional.

Yes, there's annoying squealing fangirls that don't care if they reduce Sasuke and Naruto to nekkid Bratz dolls with strap-ons for the sake of getting 'em busy. But are the gen elitists really so much better than fapping yuri fanboys? There are some of us who love yaoi/yuri/het/whatever because love is love and we love the characters and care whether or not it's IC.

I think I once saw someone reported on Fandom Wank who was dang rude and snappy to everyone, but thought everyone was ganging up on her because "OH NOES I HATE YAOI!1!!11" and people were trying to push yaoi on her. She confides to some antiyaoi comm, explaining she was anally raped when she was younger and finds it "disgusting" that fangirls get off of "TEH BUTTSECKS!!1!1". ("I hate yaoi more than ever now! WAAAAAH!")

Okay, I'm not one to talk about rape or sexual abuse. It's horrible these sort of things happen. Plus, I can get being uncomfortable with certain things due to real life experience--after going through foster care for a year, do you think I want to watch tragic movies about dysfunctional families tearing themselves apart? But using it as an excuse to dismiss all yaoi and its fanbase a glorification of rape?

Um, excuse me. That's like using Asperger's Syndrome to cover up you being an asshole.

Who says gay men can only have anal sex anyway? That's like saying women and lesbians will never have true intercourse unless the "MIGHTY HEALIGN COCK!!11!11" is jammed up inside them. Let's look over our options: oral, mutual masturbation/HJs, frottage... go consult the Karma Sumtra or Wikipedia for the rest. Not to mention there's gay men who *GASP* don't like having anal sex! It's a small number, but they're there. So attacking yaoi for glorifying rape is like stomping on ladybugs as well as aphids.

I've seen plenty of annoying, non-romance authors. Take that dude once reported at [livejournal.com profile] marysues, who dared to title his NGE fanfic Neon Genesis Evangelion and replaced Shinji with his Gary-Stu, while talking what a superior writer he is and all the while being a self-rightious hypocrite. Dr. Nick, ooooh... don't get me started on Dr. Nick. Not only is he a complete hypocrite and publicly humiliates living authors in his fics, the way he treats Ness (who he hates for NO FUCKING REASON) is deplorable--check out the Beat Up Ness Fest! I have to give him a little credit though. For one, he PARTLY inspired my interest in Earthbound, 'cause I have that tendency to get curious about characters/ships everyone gangs up on. Now that I've played and admired the game, it's going to be a pleasure ripping his work to pieces. :D

There's immature yaoi fans. There's immature gen fans. They both suck. End of story.

I want Jeff/Tony fluff. D:

Not liking yaoi does not mean you become a fandom professional.

FUCKING WORD. I can't stand people with little superiority complexes like that. "My writing is more original cause there's blowjobs and buttsex, not boring Mary Sue penis/vagina fluff." "I'm more mature than other fans cause I hate pairings." "I only ship canon couples so I'm a better fan than you."

I hate people who deny fandom possibilities. That includes people who deny that characters might be gay, and people who deny that people might be straight. If it's one character or so and you have evidence, I can live with that as long as you're not a prick about it, but if you'reall "OMG NO SLASH" or "OMG NO HET" I smackies.
