Some cynical tard who thinks he's the most brilliant thing since sliced bread posted this at [livejournal.com profile] rabidfanssuck:

Sonic fanpeople. I hate do not like to be around many of them. The big deal is that I don't actually hate Sonic, but his Rabid fans of his are just tedious. The big point is that some of these fans are Mario haters, just because they like Sonic more. These Mario bashings are annoying to no end, I mean they're fan purists. Also centering around him are people who look at him like a god or something, and the multiple and senseless pairing communities and fandoms. Here's and example, that whould be shota pairings or crack pairings, that it's just most of them don't make sense. Next to that whould be very random Yaoi/Yuri pairings which most of them also do not make any sense. (Sorry homophobes. I'm not one of you.)

Also, next to that, I also like to say that I hate Harry Potter pairings. I mean is this what J.K. Rowling wanted to see? Potter Slash made by immature fangirls? Yuck. That is why is many other fandoms which is not related to Mario, Sonic, Doraemon, etc., I do not like pairings of them. Oh, so much nonsense it is.

Last, here is a 16th-17th century poet, yes, William Shakespeare. Some of his plays (Romeo and Juliet, for instance) are being raped by "Modern day fantards." I'm sure Shakespeare is lucky that he's not alive to see all this happening. Ugh...

Now that will be all of my rant onto rabid fans of not only the Sonic fandom, but some lititure related fan-fuckery.

"Lititure". How cute! :DD

Anyway, this was my response:

I love both Mario AND Sonic. Where does this fit me in the gene pool? :o

Also, not every pairing that some fans support is complete "nonsense". Not saying you have to be a shipper or anything, but take note that fans base their support on liking a couple by a little something called "subtext".

I don't support shota or lolita. But who am I to say that every May/December romance in shippingdom is nonsense? (Hell, might as well say Nabokov's Lolita is random and senseless. What did this guy do, plug his ears screaming studying Edgar Allen Poe and Virginia Clemm?) Also, what does this make canon yaoi/yuri? Does that mean Haruka/Michiru is all apart of figments in our imagination? That Sanami Motou was teasing us, because the possibility of Dee & Ryo getting together is ZOMG LUDICROUS!? Yeah, we believe you kid. TOTALLY not a homophobe. (P.S. Play Earthbound. Tony will not make your head explode in any way whatsoever. :DDD)

Some other dude joins the fray. Should I cower before his wisdom?

Sorry. Have to disagree. I think all pairings are nonsense. Unless I see some actual proof anywhere in any given series, I'm going to ignore it completely. Shipping is the cancer that is killing the internet.

*SPORFLE* The Internet was beyond the help of an asylum BEFORE shipping got popular! :P 'Cause yeah, if Knuckles isn't snogging the Master Emerald, the concept he's obsessed with it to the point of... you know, is totally ridiculous. And WHO CARES if some of our pairings don't make sense? It's what makes them fun in the first place! I myself personally don't think certain CANON ships make sense! Just because Sonic & Amy got together at the end of Sonic X doesn't mean I STILL don't find it completely one-sided and does NOTHING to help Amy grow as a character, neither does it guarentee Sonic wouldn't have his freedom taken away and him being caged in a domestic lifestyle. Also, explain Sorato. Since WHEN did Sora decide she oughta date Yamato instead of Tai? Where's the subtext? What draws her to him after virtually never talking to him in the first season? I mean, if Episode 50 ended with Taiora, I'd understand even if the ship isn't exactly my cup of tea. But Sorato!? That is just random.

I replied to the guy with this:

So, does that mean canon pairings are nonsense too? :P

Ah well, whatever type of chocolate you prefer.

I like what one person said regarding the Shakespeare thing:

I'm sure back when Shakespeare wrote R&J, people thought the Ancient Greeks were spinning in their graves. I mean, Romeo and Juliet is an obvious and poorly done updated version of Pyramus and Thisbe. ;)

Now let's cross our fingers Gendo style and wait what happens.

I don't think arguing with them will accomplish anything, since it's obvious they're very close-minded and just want to feel like they can triumph over a few "rabid fans" by arguing them into a standstill.

So there's a community called "rabidfanssuck". Makes you wonder who really has less of a life here. *facepalm*

1.) I'm sure if J.K. Rowling was THAT much concerned about her original characters being raped by fangirls/fanboys, she would have stopped writing A LONG TIME AGO.

2.) I like how this is all coming from someone who doesn't even know how to SPELL, for fucksake.

3.) Shipping actually seems to add more colour to a series, usually, I find. I mean, the canon stuff is awesome, but it's kinda cool to think "Hey, what would have happened if ___ and ___ ended up liking each other instead?" every now and then. Sometimes, it just turns out that someone may like their own different pairing than the canonical one, if there even was one.
Quite frankly, I'd find it more flattering than abusive for the simple fact of seeing (and I mean, actually SEEING) how much production goes on with the fans--they take one little story and turn it into zillions of others and add different types of fanworks all the time to promote what they love.

And no, it's not about the shipping, I think--they are, ultimately, promoting the original series...just specifically what they have on their mind when they see/play it :D

But that's what I think. If I spilled that out in that community, mind you, I'd have been a real bitch about it instead.

She could've pulled an Anne Rice and banned fanfiction on her work, but she didn't. :P

I ship because it allows me to get into depth of someone's character--not to mention it's a lot of fun and I love working out the chemistries. :3

EXACTLY! Therefore I conclude that the wankers should all shut their traps XD;;;

I totally never thought of it like that. That's SO cool! =D

Owned, owned and owned some more. That totally made my day. XDDD

I personally think that without shipping, there is no fandom. If you don't care about fandom, why are you involved in it?

Hee hee, I read Pyramus and Thisbe in a Mythology book we read on our senior year.

Shipping makes fandom fun! Not to mention an excuse to play mindfuck with your favorite characters. ;D

Clearly these fuctards can't tell the difference between shipping and rabid shipping.

Talk about lawful boring.

Someone needs to post a rant about how "anti-fans" suck, you know, the people who get all up in arms over silly little things and then overdramatize everything.

...HUH?
Seriously, that first guy- spelling aside -NEEDS TO TAKE AN ESSAY-WRITING CLASS. He, like, states that he's there to rant about "rabid Sonic fans", and then blabbers on about multiple things, with his conclusion being irrelevant and nonsensical with NO RELATION TO THE OPENING TOPIC. Just, WTF?!

Also, boo to Canon-worshippers. I live on obscure pairings, I rarely like canon pairings because they tend to be sterotypical, and it gets so boring whenever someone pulls the "BUT IT'S NOT IN THE MOVIE/SHOW/BOOK/ANIME/MITTEN!" argument card. Grr.

I love your snarky!Peeps posts. Even if I get annoyed at the people myself!

No kidding, eh? He's constantly derailing off-topic! XDDD I mean, c'mon. What's it gonna be? Rabid Sonic fans or rabid shippers? Rabid Sonic shippers? Make up your dang mind! I can't follow you here. XD

You gotta be flexible! I think I'd feel pretty limited if I was forced to just ship canon, you know? Though I'm pretty convinced Sonic & Shadow and Jeff & Tony are canon, but hey, you know me! XDDDD Heck, I can argue Sorato didn't exist until Episode 50. XDDDD!

Hee hee, thanks. I have a little fun in these rants myself. What's more amusing is what this guy finally replied to me:

Yes. The only difference between you and me is the fandoms we're in or trying to get into and pairings we support, but Knuckles/Rouge is no difference between us.

Ju--wow. Just WOW. XDDDDDDDDDDDD!
