OMG WE HAVE AIR CONDITIONING I CAN WEAR MY SHIRT AGAIN

Ahem.

Otherwise feeling bored and crappy right now. I hate it when I get a new obsession (aka Earthbound), become desperate to get into indepth conversation about it, only to realize 80% of my flist has never heard of it while the 10% doesn't come on AIM much. I should be used to this by now, considering my other fandoms. But it's still lonely and frustrating. I also have no idea how mRC whatever is called or how it works (not to mention costing money to use it or something. oO) So I can't join Starmen.net chat rooms. Not that I'm probably missing anything anyway. Finally, I hate forums in general, they're full of idiots I want to strangle and I never post in any of them. Doesn't help when I look at the FF7 file I'm trying to finally effing complete for the billionth time, look at Cloud and compare him to Ness, get fuzzy over Ness, then remember why I hate Cloud's guts so much. Yeah, I don't care either, buster. /whinewhinewhine

Distressed grumblings aside, have a few songs. Notice I typed these up when I was in a better mood.

Electric Six - Gay Bar: How's this for an opening? I think this song KILLED me when I first heard it. Even then, I always get this goofy grin on my face and feel hyper and dance. IT'S A PARTAY SONG YA HEAR?

Jack Off Jill - I Touch Myself: So, who heard the controversial hit by the Divinyls? Me, I heard about it, but I didn't hear it until Conan O'Brien played a clip for the Horny Manatee. XDDD;;; This is a hard rock version, and damn! JOJ never fails to disappoint me. *____________* I also like how the singer is more aggressive and stalkerish too. XD

Edit: ACK! Actually, I've been lied to. XD The cover was actually done by Genitorturers, not JOJ. Thanks [personal profile] replica!

Billy Corgan - A100: ZHTJSHGJKTHGKJ%TH OH GOD I LOVE THIS SONG And I love Billy Corgan. T-T Love this mystical/futuresque feel to it. And yes, in case ya didn't know already, this is the same guy who's the vocalist of the Smashing Pumpkins. ;D

I would talk with you about it! I've been too busybusybusy to be on AIM lately, but when I do get on, I'll totally be there to fangirl with you!

I need to get going on my newer file, man!

I love the gay bar vids with Bush and Blair.

...now, I want to make a gay bar vid involving Mewtwo and Deoxys. I go to special hell.

I wonder if I should make "sprite comic music videos", with sprites depicting what's going on in the lyrics and such comic style. XD

I'd be more than happy to nerd-it-up about Earthbound with you, but this compy lacks AIM and my time on it's still rather limited T~T I don't really know anyone who's played much of Earthbound, either! I sure hope the VC release of it is out soon.

Hehehe, I was never big on Cloud, either XD; I don't like his design at all, and brooding prettyboys always ended up rather low on my "liked characters" list. Not to mention Earthbound stirred my emotions far more than a FF game has managed to do (though I haven't played most of them). I think I liked the characters in FFI more than FFVII XD; I mentally assigned them my own personalities instead!

At least it's good to know there's more Earthbound fans~ ♥ Maybe we can spam another on DA or something. XD

Maybe I'm just bitter because people bash Shadow for being "emo" (WHEN HE'S NOT) but worship folks like Cloud and Squall all over the place. @.@;;; I mean, I wouldn't mind Cloud much if his dorky side shown more often ("Let's mosey.") but ugh... the game better give me a good excuse to pity him, 'cause otherwise I wanna punch his face in. :/ I like Aeris and Red XIII so far though. And Tifa's okay.

Ooh! Mass DA Earthbound spam sounds lovely~! ♥

That's 'cause Cloud and Squall are "omg HAWT!!1" and Shadow is "eeew furry!1" in the eyes of crazy fangirls, I bet. Too bad some people don't wanna understand that "sad" or "conflicted" doesn't equal "emo"! Poor Shadow needs more respect.

I agree, Cloud would be more fun if he acted dorky more often. Maybe he does at some point in the game, but I haven't even beaten the first disc. I really like Aeris, too, so I'm reluntant to reach the part where she, er, y'know XD; And Tifa's pretty cool, too. Her punch-punch-kick! fighting style is pretty neat.

I mean, Cecil and Kain from FF4 are broody and angsty too. But when you look at their stories, who could blame them? Not to mention they go to fight their inner demons too.

That's society these days. @.@;;; We get fangirls who love the "angsty" guys, and the elitists lash back by hating "emo" characters. The line between sad/serious/troubled and emo/whiny/self-pitying starts to blur, and it's like any sign of sadness at all = ZOMG CHEER UP EMO KID. And sadness just becomes more unnatural than before "emo" was popular/hated. Heck, I've had friends on my flist who are afraid to angst in their journals because they didn't want to be seen as "emo".

*cough* But yeah. I'll probably end up abandoning FF7 again for some other weird game like Bubble Bobble, 'cause I'm fickle like that. XDDDD!

I still need to play Earthbound (like most other games, I have this bad habit of getting into it for like 5-10 minutes then going to another game and forgetting about the former game ^^' ) but one reason I'm a little hesitant to is that my, er, ex, really really really LOVES the game and while I know I shouldn't let that affect me, it seems anything good, be it anime or manga, that I want to check out... well, I feel a little insecure knowing I'll be thinking (for example) "Earthbound = him" like I usually do. NOT THAT we aren't on good terms, but I guess it's a... thing. XD;;

(Encourage me to play it~? Cause I really do like what I had played of it, just.. gah, me and my psychological booboos DX)

Psychological booboos? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DON'T LET THEM GET IN THE WAY OF YOUR FUN. I'LL HAVE YOU THINK OF ME FANGIRLING WHEN YOU PLAY THE GAME INSTEAD.

1. Jeff/Tony fluff. I mean, srsly. (http://www.rabix.com/slabo/) Doesn't help that Itoi stated directly in interviews that Tony is canonically gay (Not speculation or my yaoi fangirl speaking either! It's true!). ;D
2. I love EVERYBODY in this game (well, except Pokey. XD But it's fun to hate Pokey). Like, the Chosen 4 (Ness, Paula, Jeff, Poo) I wanna squash them all.
3. It makes fun of other RPGs. XDDD! There's Onett's police force, whose famous for blocking important roads. NPCs who CONSTANTLY crumble the 4th wall to rubble ("Come back when you finish playing Earthbound!" "You! The one with the controller!" "It's just like saving the game! Hehehe...") You look for free hamburgers in trash cans, you fight insane cultists, and Paula is the magical powerhouse of the team instead of the typical healer. XDDD!
4. You know Disney movies, where they balance between making you laugh and cry? Earthbound's like that. It's such a hilarious game, that you don't expect the gut-wrenching moments that pounce in, making them even MORE effective. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay later in the game, Magicant makes me wibble. Not gonna spoil. XD
5. The fandom is awesome. Are we insane? Yes. But it's Nintendo's fault and the American population for being stupid that we get such few games for this wonderful series. ;D We're super dedicated, we're sweet, there's no shipwars or flamewars, we're just here to love the game~ ♥ We have lots of kickass fanart/fanfic too~ ♥♥♥
6. Great music. Which is always a plus~ ♥

I wouldn't suggest resorting to MIRC, no matter how desparate you are! The last time I downloaded that, I got a virus, and it helped slowly kill my suffering computer. I am TEH SUSPIXIOUSES of MIRC since then!
Diddums for feeling fandomly obscure. I feel this all the time, but it is my curse, so I sympathise with you, InsanePurin!
Oh, and thanks for giving me that Earthbound link. I'm enjoying it, but I'm not enjoying getting endlessly mutilated by Attack Slugs. :(

Buwahahaha! I knew my instincts were right!

Earthbound gets REALLY tough, so I can sympathize there. @.@;;; You gotta overlevel a lot--and one of the nice things about it is that you can instantly kill weaker enemies by stomping on them without actually going into battle. ;D

I am an angst fangirl D: But then, I've been one for years and years, long since before the whole "emo" thing so at least I can say I'm not just following a trend?

Okay, I really just wanted to comment and say... mIRC costs money? Wow... I downloaded it for free years ago :o If you want it, I can see if I can get it off my old laptop and upload it for you (I might not be able to though, I'm not sure). It didn't have any viruses or anything, and I can doublecheck with a virus/trojan scan.

btw, the I Touch Myself cover? it's miscredited as JOJ all the time, but it's really by the Genitorturers ._. wiki article, which includes cover versions it's still a way awesome cover though, not that I've heard the original :D

Hey, no worries. I always liked angst too. XD It's the emoing self-pitying kids that had the main populace attack the angsty characters who ARE cool. DDDD: Alas.

I'm not interested in mIRC, so no worries. I'm A-Okay with AIM.

Argh! Thanks, I didn't know that. @.@;;; It credits JOJ on my sister's iPod too, so that's how I found out the song. @.@;;;; Really though, thank you so much! Makes me think of those losers on Limewire and such that credits every living song parody in existance to Weird Al Yankovic, despite the fact that there's NO way Weird Al would've bothered making these. :P
