Evil Super Sonic was one of the coolest things "Sonic X" ever came up with and it only lasted 30 seconds the entire show. *mumblegroanwhine* Figures. T________________T (Albeit, Sonic had an evil Super form in Fleetway too. But still! :o!!)

You liked Dark Sonic? Frankly, I didn't at all.. Because that ruined the concept of the connection between Sonic and Super Sonic if you know what I mean.

*blink* I don't see how it "ruined" the "concept of connection". oO;; Super Sonic was Sonic's Mr. Hyde in Fleetway, and while the comic may be based on the games, they're still different universes and have absolutely nothing in common with Sonic X either. I don't think Evil Super Sonic's an "upgrade" of Super Sonic anyway. (That's Hyper Sonic's job. XDD!) Just "another side" of Super Sonic, like if the negative power of the Chaos Emeralds got in the way or something. I'd poke a bit more on the Evil Super Sonic theory, but... eh. Either way, I don't see how 30 seconds could be enough to rip an entire concept like Sonic & Super Sonic to pieces.

Well, but it did. You see, to me Sonic is an all-positive character. And that moment where he turns black is the only one in the whole series where he deviates from that form. That's exactly what I love about Sonic - that he's a 100% good guy. The creators of Sonic X decided that it's OK "to be bad sometimes" and this way, ruined his image. In my opinion, that's the only way how Sonic should be - a good guy, - and one can't "be bad sometimes". Apart from that episode, Sonic is always kind and smiling. I think he's been like that all the time! - maybe with an exception of Sonic OVA (he's kind of a bit cheeky there) and maybe Fleetway (with that Supersonic) which I haven't read.

Thing is, Sonic IS an all-positive character. Which of course, doesn't change. Then there are the people who go "WAAAAAH WAAAAAAAAAAH SUPER SONIC IS USED TOO MUCH AND IS INVINCIBLE AND ALWAYS SOLVES EVERYTHING" and... not touching those people with a ten-foot-pole. @.@;;; So what if there was a "price" for being Super, other than slowly being sucked of your rings? Sonic is good--nothing will change that. But he does have flaws (and yes, he CAN be a jerk: see, Knuckles): one of them being pride. When you're Super (or Hyper) for humongoid extensive long periods, and you have ALL this crushing power in your hands and everyone's watching/adoring you and you can do pretty much anything you ever wanted, well... perhaps, other than the Super Emeralds, is why we rarely see Hyper Sonic. Evil Super Sonic himself being even rarer--because it's most likely a form where he is possessed. By what, I don't know. But possessed and "having a bad side" are entirely different things: Peach & the Shadow Queen, anyone? I don't think the people from Sonic X were trying to be all "LOLZ SONIC'S A BADGUY SOMETIMES".

Yes, Sonic's good. But he's not perfect. I'm not saying Sonic should have a tragic past and have a sadistic streak like Shadow (Definitely not! XDDD!), but that he has flaws. That while he may be a hero, he's human like anyone else--he teases Knuckles. He eats chilidogs. Most of all, we look up to him for his light-heartedness. But I don't want a Sonic that can DO-NO-WRONG-LOLZ--which is part of why I couldn't get into Sonic X in the first place. He was too high-and-mighty, but everyone agreed with him. He could stop ANY villain, stop ANY of Eggman's schemes, knows ALL the tricks--it makes him look superficial. That, to me, "ruins" Sonic more than just a 30-second-thing that had no effect on anything and'll possibly never happen again.

I suppose we just like Sonic differently. I've understood you :) Really, it's really clear from your comment :) But well.. What I have is that nonsensical fondness of all-positive characters.. Other example would include Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket..
It's not that it's the only kind of characters that I like, but for some reason, I love them.. Maybe because I kind of look up to them.. Wish to be like them.. Resilient, open-hearted towards everything, never giving up.. I think that it's also something like the Jesus himself was, as I image him (I'm not a believer though).
I understand that you want to see their other side.. That's perfectly alright :) But it's just that I'd like it to be that way, that it would be their only side. I think I've probably overplayed that 30-second appearance of dark Super Sonic ^_^* 'cos in Furuba there was also an episode where Tohru couldn't overcome pain and nasty feelings (well, but she eventually did). I must be crazy but I think that I value things in characters which few people value now :) I was like other people now some time ago too, I think - I valued all this "blackness", coolness and egoism of it.. Lol.. I suppose I've become a very different person now.. Because many of my views changed to the exact opposite.. Maybe it's because of that that I've never been able to like Shadow :) I do agree that he's got cool looks and a cool style and he has a character but well, this constant emoism.. And it always seems to me he's just trying to be rude and to follow "his own way", etc. Well, I understand that but I really don't understand how can I love that. But Super Sonic I can love.. Because of? Hm.. To me Super Sonic is Sonic transcending himself, where pure kindness is left, only good and nothing evil and bad, he has no limits now, and he uses the power of his heart (like in the song.. "open your heart.. and you will learn") to turn everything right. Now that I can love and that I look up to and that I wish to be and that I wish were true.
I hope now you understand me too :) I guess I've never told anyone about what I feel towards this stuff so in detail.

Okies dokies. :) And I know what you mean about Tohru--I absolutely adored her because of her positiveness. Sonic, I can see having a dark side, but Tohru? Nuh uh. Off-limits. I wouldn't have Tohru any other way than the sweet person she already is. :P To me, if the world were filled with more Tohrus, life would be friggin' awesome.

Sonic's like the guy we look up to, no matter HOW we see him--maybe that's part of why Shadow was made, to serve as a foil and explore all these "dark" traits that if exhibited in Sonic would make him wildly OOC (out-of-character) no matter what the explanation: thus Sonic's qualities shine all the more. (I just tend to be a sucker for "doppelganger" type characters, like Meta Knight and Mewtwo. XDD!) I'm probably one of the few people to ever say this, but I never saw Shadow as "emo" at all. oO;;; (I mean, not ONCE in any of the Sonic games did he ever whine how awful his life is, and he always acts instead of moping around like your typical wrist-hacker. But... moving on! XDD;;;) One of the reasons I adore Shadow is not because of his "darkness" or "LOLZ HEZ EBIL ADN HAZ A GUN" or "ZOMG HEZ HAWT", but because he had a heart. He carried the promise of a best friend and stopped at nothing to fufill his devotion... after 50 years. Talk about whoa. He admitted his mistakes and said he was wrong--something which to this day a LOT of people have a hard time doing, especially the self-centered. He didn't linger on it either--he went to fix them, and even if it meant complete death, he faced it with a smile and positive outlook and... the guy touched me in more than one way since SA2.

I can understand not liking Shadow for his cold exterior and pompousness. ('Cause lord knows he's really bad about that) XDD! Thankfully, Sonic's ego is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay easier to swallow and he has this little lightness behind him too, which makes a pleasant contrast and refreshment. :) Dunworry, I understand perfectly: and it's always fun to go indepth into topics like these and share thoughts. ^^

Haha, it's been so nice to talk with you :) I never knew you you've read Fruits Basket too :) I'm a fan of it.. I've finished the anime, now I'm reading the manga :) By the way, maybe you'd find that interesting - if I were asked which characters I associate myself most - out of all universes - I'd answer - Tohru, Kyo and Yuki. It's just that I find SO much in common with each of them. Probably there are some other characters too, but these 3 just come into my head instantly :) And yes. Tohru is love. That's the kind of girl I'd love. ^_^ Fruits Basket being shoujo manga.. Um.. Frankly, I don't really care :) I watch all different sorts of anime, and I pick the ones I like most :)

Of Shadow - you've really pointed out cool things about him.. These things one really can admire in him, true :) What I meant when I said "emo" was this Shadow's habit (?) of being alone all the time, being unsociable, becoming angry at things.. Lol, now that I mention it, me and him are probably alike.. Except that "angriness" thing.

Sonic's ego is easier to swallow - hahahahaha.. XD Well, he is an optimist, after all :) The ego - well, but for instance, I was kind of surprised when I watched Sonic OVA for the first time, in the beginning of it seemed to me he acted kind of rude towards Tails.. Because he never did that in Sonic X :)
