Moronic Reviewers
Jun. 15th, 2006 07:24 pmYou know, I'm starting to realize why the people on
fanficrants get upset and post a lot about reviewers begging them to continue or sequel their finished fanfiction.
'Cause if it isn't one-liners like "cool fic" or whatnot, it's crap like this.

you shoulda made more chapters! That's why no one reviews! their too pissy about the ending..lol.. if you add more, i'll be glad to read! So if you do, I'll be watching! ^_-
Oh, it's not like I TOTALLY agonized over my writing for half a month (Heck, fought Writer's Block and depression for 5-6 months. Still am probably), you ungrateful git. Also, the only way I get respect is by adding continuous worthless filler chapters instead of writing the newest Satan "one-shots"? Total bull. Excuse ME if I don't feel the need to drag my stuff longer and longer and longer like DBZ or Rumiko Takahashi. (Conclusion? What conclusion? *GASP* You said the C-word!) I'd rather enjoy an Animé series with 26 episodes that's compact with quality, instead of a 500+ and ongoing series where 400 of these episodes are dry and forced and boring and NOTHING FUCKING HAPPENS.
I'd also like to know one more thing: what the fuck is WRONG with my endings!? I'll admit that rushing is my problem, mainly 'cause I fucking CHEER when I actually finish something. But do the fanits mention anything about it? No. They go ZOMG Y DUNT U HAV MOR!?!?!?!!?!!1? and scoff at me by saying THAT'S the reason I never get reviewed. 'Cause I piss everyone off for having "the end" at the bottom, oh noes! How DARE I finish my fanfic!? *emo tear*
Of course, being themasochistic curious author I am about my "fans", I click on the fanit's profile.
i LOOOOVVVVEEE sonadow...they are just a cute couple..ya know? my site is dedicated to shadow..it has 1 movie of him and sonic fighting, one of him and some sonic x episodes..im still working on it, so don't yell @ me..oh..and 2 of my stories..i REALLY need to update it, but im too busy looking for stories to read..wow..i never thought i would say i ACTUALLY wanna read....0_o
...Why do I attract idiots? WHY!?
Wait, I forget. I'm writing for a ship that has the most moronic fangirls in the fandom ever. And Shadow, geez... the one thing that comforts me right now is at least I'm not having horny fanboys IM me for more Krystal fanfic.
My writer's soul and faith in humanity dies a little everytime someone says they hate reading. But that's another strangle for another day.
I'd like to visit every rabid drooling fangirl's house and rip apart all their manga and photos and Orlando Bloom posters, just to make them scream and cry. Snap all their Animé DVDs and music CDs and video game discs in two (and into itty bitty pieces). Delete all their Advent Children downloads off their computer and put viruses in its place. Oh yeah, and make it look like I've decapitated/burned/ripped all their plushies when I've actually started selling them off on Ebay. At least I finally have a use for long nails after having no luck finding the nail clipper the past several days.

Date: 2006-06-16 12:40 am (UTC)I'm in the process of writing two SSB fics, both of which are at NSider right now. ('Burning Bright' needs a FF.N update, badly) And all I get are comments saying 'good fic' or something along the lines of 'TL;DR'. (Too Long, Didn't Read)
With Burning Bright, it's not so much me churning out filler chapter after filler chapter, it's because I'm suffering from trying to have the last half of the fic make sense and have a somewhat coherent completion. That's why it's taken me almost a YEAR (a year tomorrow, that is) to get to the half-way point of the story itself. And boy, am I looking forward to the day I get the darn thing done so I can work on other 'fic.
But with Long Distance of Murder, I ended up rushing through that near the end, 'cause I wanted to get the damn thing done and move on with my life. Thus equals anticlimatic ending and me being VERY unhappy with it.
I dunno. I don't think it's fair to say to an author who has finished a fic that there should be more. If the author is happy where the story is done, so be it. It's THEIR story, not some gippy fantard's story to Rumiko Takahashi it to hell and back.
Delete all their Advent Children downloads off their computer and put viruses in its place.
OMGYESPLZ. While we're at it, can we throw in raw and subbed downloaded episodes of Full Metal Alchemist and Naruto too? =D

Date: 2006-06-16 12:55 am (UTC)I mean, dude. I'm HAPPY with my fic. And it's been a damned good feeling I hadn't had for my writing for a while. I not gonna Disney Sequel tripe all because of a bunch of brats that want to be in charge or my writing.
You want another chapter? AWWW GEE HERE YA GO *insert End of Evangelion here*
Another thing that hurts me is when people praise (or flame) me SOLEY for what ship I write in a fanfic if there's any. In understand that ships have a humongoid (if usually frightening) following, and romance is like a humongoid genre with different cults behind it, but it bums me out when I put all that hard work into making a believable Character A x Character B fic and what does the reader care for? The plot? The interaction? That one paragraph beautifully describing Shadow? That silly sentence about Sonic teasing Shadow that made the reader laugh? Nope. It's "OMG i luv sonad0w so I hop3 u rite mor". Makes me feel wasted. Doesn't matter what I do or churn out, as long as its the fanit's OTP, it's all gold to her. Doesn't matter if I wrote my fic or simply "lolz Sonic & Shadow go on a quest to seek the Crystal Coconut!" in five seconds to get the same bloody review.
Ooh, good idea about FMA and Naruto! X3333~! Shall I add Trojans and Spyware over their doujinshi pr0n too? ;DDD

Date: 2006-06-16 01:39 am (UTC)But *headdesk* at the review. I get stuff asking me to continue one-shots or ended fics all the time, and it's really annoying. I mean, on the one hand, it's nice that they like a fic enough to want more, but on the other hand it's the author's story and if the author say it's finished, then it's finished, and they should be able to accept that. There are a ton of fanfics out there for the popular fandoms, so it's not like they're lacking or anything. And then that part the reviewer added about why no one is reviewing your story... wtf is all I have to say to that.

Date: 2006-06-16 02:55 am (UTC)I know what you mean!
Date: 2006-06-16 03:23 am (UTC)Like for "The Longest River In the World," my Knuxouge angstfic, I've gotten:
"its beautiful. i luv it. ur awesome. r u updating soon? i hope so! ^_^ "
I responded that it was marked completed. Dumbass.
Another person asked me to upload another chapter for clarity... I thought the eneding was pretty clear myself, but... Hey, at least they were cool about it.
That pisses me off so much though. If something is TLDR, I don't even bother to review unless it was so bad that I stopped. And I typically avoid chapter fic, both as a writer as a reader. I'd rather turn out a small work and give my audience closure... But people who beg for more chapters of a one shot are so annoying.
*hug*

Date: 2006-06-16 02:14 pm (UTC)Haven't sucky fangirls ever heard of "quality over quantity"?
And as for writers who don't like to read? Excuse me while I take up my torch and pitchfork.
