People upset with ShtH and him appearing in Sonic Next-Gen? Though I admit, I really miss Shadow from SA2B. That was before SEGA decided to beat him with sticks for cash during (still) hard times.

Dang. =/ I dunno, I didn't ever think Shadow was a bad character. I think it's pretty sad that Sonic fans have this passionate hate boner for him -all because of one game-... then again, most Sonic fans always came across to me like self-righteous old school dicks. XP

And yay! I've gotta find some way to use Meta Knight in my fics. Considering I've 'banned' Kirby (his power is WAY to abuseable, so he's relegated to cameo/guest roles), Meta is the next best thing. =3

;___; Poor Shadow. I still like him a lot even though Sega's been dragging him through the mud with recent roles. The gameplay was a little wonky in ShtH but I liked the story/setting, all the better to corrupt Chris with, muwa ha ha ha!.

I hope he won't be upstaged too much by the new white hedgehog (Silver?). Let's see who can out-angst the other! XD XD XD

As for Smash Bros Brawl, YEEEEYY~ Mety~~~ :3 :3 :3 I was also happy to see Pit who NOBODY knows! It's been ninteen years since he emerged on the NES (and then on GB and other random places.) Wai~ He looks great for spiffy 3D graphics!

I lived on wonky gameplay, I think because I had a lotta experience and/or patience with a buncha old funky NES games we owned. (which may STILL be around. :o) Hell, everyone in my house grew frustrated with "Hey You! Pikachu!" while I basically kept talking and experiencing words with Pika until he listened to me 100%. ;D That, and it may have to do with my brother and I playing with broken controllers. XDDD;;;

After adjusting to Westopolis for a bit, ShtH for the most part was pretty much cakewalk. XDDD;;;

I still miss Shadow myself. Though I DO wish SEGA would stop shoving him into the spotlight and simply let him stand behind Sonic. You know, be among the supporting character roles like Tails/Knux/Amy/Rouge/etc., ya know? That's one thing that looks kinda refreshing about "Sonic Rivals". He's major, but not THE major one.

I haven't seen the trailers for Silver yet but I hope he'll be a great addition to the hedgehog posse. :3 :3 And I agree, Shadow did very well as not-the-main character. I'm still very glad they kept Sonic in there in ShtH though, and fairly in-character (although a bit more perky than I expected but I liked it better that way.) I thought his reactions to Shadow's choices were good.

I'm just as surprised as you are in that I asked for the drabble and BOOM, Meta Knight was announced as a new character. O___o;;; I do like him though, he was so fun to fight in SuperStar and I like his role in the anime. I find it adorable if Kirby looks up to him a lot and Meta's got a soft spot for him. XD

Yes, Pit is hot. :3 :3 :3 He's grown up so nicely. Careful, Link, you've got competiton in the pretty-boy market! XD XD

I don't hate him. I simply like Sonic, Eggman, Knuckles, and Rouge more. ^^* I'll be honest, I don't like Shadow near as much as I did after SA2B, but that's more the fault of Sonic Heroes than it is Shadow. Shad's self-titled game did improve my opinion of him, because he was clearly under the influence of mind control when he did the really evil things (I mean, did you listen to his voice before The Ark? Brainpuppet!).

It's just that his self-titled game elevated Sonic to being my favorite character, becuase the game has more SonANGST than any of Sonic's own titles, and it reveals a surprising amount of Breness in the blue elf (SPORTACUS! WAH! ...dammit chaoscheebs :p). I mean, in Heroes, Sonic does start to show his humanity... but in Shadow, Sonic's soul is laid bare for the audience in a few key moments, in Lethal Highway, Space Gadget, and his boss run. Sonic shows both an "unusual" amount of attachment to Shadow (whether you're a Sonadow fan or not, is it so hard to believe in instant best friends?) and a fiercely self-critical need to be a hero. I was salutatorian of my high school class; I know how it is to push yourself that hard. I still occasionally kick myself in the ass for not cutting Val, and I ANGST over the 3.914 I got my first semester of college and the 3.9 I almost got this semester, which I miraculously avoided at the last second. So like I did with Eggy in SA2, I saw Sonic and I was like "OO ME!" which is something I've never quite done with Shadow until like, now. My "OO MEE" moments came when I looked back at SA2 in the context of my relationship with my boyfriend. I'd probably blow up the damn world for Chet. And he's a better person than me. I'd say he's Maria, but he's not dying and I'm not an alien. So there. Yay.

My love of Sonic characters usually comes down to seeing myself in them. I've been fans of Tails, Knuckles, Eggman, Rouge, Sonic, and sort of Shadow at various points, all because they spoke to who I was at the time. I'm "Sonic" right now. Will I ever be "Shadow"? Maybe. We'll see whenever I get to play Next-Gen. But I certainly don't hate, or even dislike him. I'm a little pissed at him for stuff go boom, but I still like him. I even like him when he's driving jeeps, because little furry things in cars are cool. I will be mad if he has outrageous subs that make me nauseous though. Pimpin' car stereos are NOT COOL for synesthetes! I only get pretty colors when there isn't much bass.
