Why Sonic/Shadow?

I have nothing against it in the slightest, I'm just curious as to why you like those two together as much as you do. ^^

No probs, I'll anwser you both. ;D

I didn't think much about Sonadow at first--I thought they were your stereotypically boring "OMGENEMIES" ship brought together for kicks. Hoo boy though, watching my brother (or me, I'm unsure) play the game again though, I changed my mind quick. XDDD;;; It's going to take ages and ages to go through why I adore them, so here's a condensed version. XDDD;;;

Whenever I see those two on-screen, my breath's taken away--like, every time, quicker than any other ship effects me. I'll get the common reason out of the way and say they're alike and different--as in, different to be extreme foils of each other, but alike enough so that they complement another without causing jagged ties that refused to get along in a sweater or something. XDD

They're also alike/different enough in that they can benefit from being near each other: Sonic's always going to be in a rush, so if anyone wants to be with him, they'll have to keep up and have the same zest for adventure as he does--with Maria telling Shadow to make the people happy, and to enjoy life on Earth and the world, Sonic'll tell him a THING or two about the planet they live on... and by showing. ;D There's also the difference in their personalites that can actually help save the other's lives: it's Sonic's cheerful nature which Shadow desperately needs, and Shadow thinks ahead before rushing into a situation, which would save Sonic (and others) a countless amount of pain and trouble. XDDD;;

Also, they need someone who would love them for being themselves: for Shadow, somewhere he can belong without treated as "Project Shadow", "The Ultimate Life" or someone to be used/used as a weapon for his/her/their own selfish reasons. Sonic too, for anyone to see him as more than just "the cool, blue hedgehog who saves the world from Eggman!" or someone to admire for hero-worship alone: because they were rivals, because they nearly destroyed another several times, they see each other as more than just "OMG EARTH'S SAVIOR" and "OMG FLAWLESS EXISTANCE"--they don't care for any of that. Instead of what the world perceives any of the two to be through illusions, they see each other for who they are... the REAL Sonic & Shadow. They wouldn't force the other to "change", they have no "idealized" version of the other--they fight each other, they care for another, they'd rip the lungs from, they'd love each other and be loyal... for who they REALLY are inside. In today's society of fakery, deciet, and cheating, that's more than important to me.

They're also challenging, but fun as HELL to write them in fanfiction: the possiblities are endless, not just with the fluff and angst. (Not that I mind these, mind you. ;D) There's so much you can work with their relationship, be it cotton-candy sweet (Not THAT icky-kinda sweet, I mean good classic IC sweet. :3), dark passion, empty tissue-boxes, or giggling over a gool ol' bickerfest, it's all in good fun, and can be developed in so many ways... If only the friggin' Sonadow authors USED them! *_____*

Dude, one of the reasons I love Sonadow so much? It's the spark that woke me up like it did for you and Knuxadow--they needed time and issues to get over, and it definitely wasn't your traditional "WUV AT 1ST SITE OMG ROSES AND RAINBOWS". XDDD I like to see a pairing develop... that's what makes it magical for me. Save me the chocolate for later, it tastes all the sweeter after we take care of dinner and put the dishes away. ;D

Thank You (Kirby 64) (http://www.livejournal.com/users/azure_sashes/11545.html) though, was the first time I believed I've actually done something which I can truly call decent, and sort of found my niche in character development rather than just random humor. It was written when I wasn't having too uppity a days at 13, but when I finished that, I was just... extremely proud of it. *______* I felt I done something original by not only writing about a character I adored, but thought about a scene which people hadn't gotten into before... (That, and the reviews made me feel warm and fuzzy, knowing I've done something that touched them/made them cry, and 'cause Blue9Tiger, of ALL people, liked it. *______*)

Though I don't actively write songfics anymore (Should we say, "Thank GOD!"? XDDD;;;), I really miss my Dido CD, and wanna hear "Thank You" and a few other favorites again for a good, nostalgic Christmas...

What was the first thing, the very first thing, that got you into the Sonic fandom? Was it from watching Sonic SatAM, for example, or much later, from playing Sonic Adventure?

I liked two Game Gear games of "Sonic", and had four tapes of AoStH, and a few snippets of SatAM, then after that, the series was dunked outta my life until I saw SA2 being played a cousin's house, my brother later getting SADX for Christmas, me beating that (and SA2 when he got it), but my few attempts to get into the fandom left me rather traumatized, so I didn't really touch "Sonic" or thought that much about the games until around I signing up for DA...

...Hence later finding a picture on DA of Knuckles called "Scarlet Temptation"... and realizing it was by Orin, on DA. Finding her name familiar then, I took a look through her gallery, fell in love, watched her, all the jazz... before I knew it, I was flipping through her FF.net account and looking at art/fanfiction SHE liked, and well... I started fangirling other artists/writers, and it proved quite a buildup on my DA favorites and FF.net favorite stories.... it all built itself up from there. XDDDD;;; (It's all her fault. *sniff*)

My Chaotix fangirlism would be beyond limits, of course. (Like today) I'd 'prolly be aaaaaaaaall over Espio (Like today) and squeal over Vecpio like no tomorrow. (Like today. XDDD;;;)
