Okie dokies. Puri just surfed her entire DA Favorites Gallery, and her Favorite Stories list on FF.net. 'Cause she wanted to make a tally of pretty/well-written Sonadow she found, though it'll be QUITE a while before Puri goes squeally and typety for ship_manifesto. Here's Puri's results (And 99.98% of this is from DA):

Art: 16 are Sonadow. (Most of it chibi & cute, but I don't find anything wrong with that... I'm just worried about variety, 'tis all. XDD;;) 13 is pretty much gen, but Sonic & Shadow being awesome (And DRAWN awesome) nonetheless--I'd probably have to ask before showing these, to avoid drama when I DO finish the Manifesto. That totals almost 30.

Fanfic (Not counting mine, though that's a small number anyway): 5. Effing 5. (Would have been 7, but...)

How on earth is my essay going to do any good if the fandom sucks? The last thing I want is for freaky fangirls to spoil everything leaving hardly anything decent out there to have Puri's would-be Sonadow converts shippers hide in a corner, be put off forever and leave. And gods, I know I haven't written enough... and I'm paranoid of my old Sonadows. If I actually share my stuff as well, I'll look less like an idiot fangirl and actually know what I'm talking about if my writing's at least decent. And well... it's harder to take chances when the most you've got was something from early 2005 or so. :/

P.S.: First person to mention The-Site-That-Must-Not-Be-Named (Aka Sonadow.com) or Syberfox gets MANGLED. Or rather, ignored with the most frigid shoulder possible. (Especially the former. Grudges? Me? :o)



Like, I can't rest until I've posted enough quality stuff out there. I finish the Secret*Fic, and the first person that tells me I wrote a legendary, ground-breaking fic not because it's Sonadow or whatever pairing I write, but because it was original, well-thought out with plot & characterization, and had heart and spirit compared to the gray drudgery forgotten in five seconds, well... I've done my job. If it means I'll be a ghost by this time, at least I'd quit haunting people and float to peace.

Except sometimes, Puri has to wonder about her stuff. I want to help instead of hurt, ya know.

*will realize she'll get stuck in debates with a few people for this* *sigh* Oh well.

Also, your Secret Fic sounds veeery interesting, to say the least. Considering how much you're thinking about originality, plot and characterisation, I highly doubt that you could 'hurt', as you put it! ^^

It's hard to find good Sonadow fanfiction out there. On...uh...The-Site-That-Must-Not-Be-Named, I only found maybe 1 or 2 fanfics I thought were okay. A lot of them were either PWPs or just badly-written. And they always seem to make Sonic so...obsessive and whiny about Shadow. "Don't leave, Shadou-kun!~~~ *snf* ;-;" *sigh*

I must've found... (Count 'em Johnny!) one fic that I emailed the author telling her I liked it. XDDD (But of course there's a lot of PWPs--with FF.net's ban and considering AFF.net is... yeah, where else are they gonna find nothing but squeeing "OMG THIS IS HAWT" in their inbox no matter how crappy it is? You know, to think of it, this can also go for non-PWP...)

*shudder* Obsessive is right. @.@ Considering how whiny/girly/stereotypical uke he's "potrayed" in these fics, I have a feeling fangirls only ship Sonadow for A. HAWT YAOI!!!1 or B. Fangirl absolutely worships Shadow and pretends Sonic is her, in a way the most RABID "Sonic" fanboys imagine themselves as Sonic to get away from IRL...

I wanted to read about Sonic & Shadow, not Ken & Barbie. T-T *WAAAAAAIL*
