Date: 2005-11-14 05:35 am (UTC)Shadowned? I guess Soned doesn't work.
Date: 2005-11-14 12:30 pm (UTC)- Shadow's "evil" persona being associated with his black fur promotes racism by equating dark coloration to evil.
- Shadow's swinging, unstable moral compass is a bad moral example for young children
- Depending on how you play the upcoming game, Shadow uses lethal weaponry to harm people for his own personal gain rather than the defense of others
- Shadow is extremely naive and has nearly destroyed the world because he thought it was right
- Shadow, even when he's "good," shows strong sociopathic tendencies that are a bad influence on children
- Shadow's constant death/rebirth/amnesia is handled inefficiently and ineffectively, and muddles the already convoluted Sonic Canon
- Shadow's upcoming game may serve to sever the continuity, creating two unique canons
- Shadow's non-death after SA2 is inconsistent due to how poorly it is explained
- Shadow's intentional contrast against Sonic is creating unrest in the fandom due to idiotic fanboys and fangirls on both sides of the fence
- Shadow's relation to Sonic has never been, and likely will never be explained, which will leave older fans hanging in an innappropriate manner that reeks of plot inconsistency
I'm too tired. Please excuse any logical fallacies, I'm not thinking. Off to bed... Off to bed....

Date: 2005-11-16 02:26 am (UTC)I can only see how the naivety and sociopathicness may be a turn-off: but then again, he's human. I'm not saying I'm thinking it's RIGHT for him to almost destroy the world--I've even had my share of wanting to smack him several times myself. But he wasn't a random "KILL DESTROY ALL I'M BETTER THAN YOU SONIC" Gary-Stu: he had his strength AND weaknesses, and he was well-rounded and interesting without stealing each and every spotlight from Sonic and the older characters. (*coughChrisThorndykecough*) All the reasons I have for liking Shadow just... overpower all the reasons I ever could to dislike him. Like, the most stubborn Anti-Fanatic could rave me for hours--but no matter how all the negativeness gets pushed in my head, I always have a positive view come in like a ray of sun, and it's all I could focus.
I know it makes me sound like a rabid close-minded fangirl, but... I just can't bring myself to NOT like Shadow. Not saying I'm burning people's houses if they don't agree with me or anything--but I've taken every anti-Shadow comment in the book, and none of it is enough to counter my already strong opinions of him.
Damn. Sounded stuck-up. I apologize.
