I Don't Hold On to the Tail of Your Kite~
Oct. 19th, 2005 06:43 pmOkay, I think I'm getting too fangirly again--particulary on one thing, and I'm acting like it's eating up my entire life lately. I know some people on my flist will get extremely annoyed if I mentioned Sonadow for the ten billionth time in my journal, so I should probably cool it for five seconds and like... act normal. Once in a while. *nod* Much as my inner self enjoys fangirling everything from ships to characters to games to bunny rabbits, I dunwanna portray myself as one of those Rabid Sonadow Fangirls TM that I whine and moan and hate so much, so... "Mario DDR" comes out in the 23rd! I think. @.@ I can't believe how much zipped of October already.
Oh yeah, ever had an experience that was dull and entertaining at the same time? Well, Puri SO adores Nathaniel Hawthorne *cough* as a few of us might know, and just survived past Chapter 12 of her favorite book, The Scarlet Letter. *coughcough* And guess what, kids? 'Yer ol' Puri got to read "Young Goodman Brown", and she read the thing at least twice before she could understand it! And either way, her brain felt like napping. Not as painful as The Scarlet Letter, but Puri was more than relieved that by the end of the 2nd reread, her Dad arrived to pick her up from school, saving her from even MORE tedium. But yar! Puri had a little plot for her 'ol Daddy! Though normally silent in the car, she began to talk of what she read today...
Dad's face twisted in coil and grimace as Puri read aloud "Young Goodman Brown", giggling the entire way through and even more so at her father's pained, snarky remarks. Daddy stopped to pick up milk at a store, and he dreaded returning to the car, where the daughter waited grinning, ready to prolong the torture. Alas, she didn't finish reading by the time she got home (but skipped around a few parts), and Daddy fled to Mother, pouring out the horror he put up with his daughter that drive...
Me: Wow, that car trip felt shorter than usual. What about yours, Dad? :D *giggle*
Dad: It was LONGER. PAINFUL. HORRIBLE. TORTUREOUS.
Me: *laughing maniacally*
She read aloud the questions she had to do based on the short story to her father.
Dad: ...We should've home-schooled you. What kind of MIND teachers and schools would have to force students to keep reading HAWTHORNE in class!
That night when Puri's Dad prolonged a bit too long on the computer while Puri was trying to sleep, she read "Young Goodman Brown" to send her father shrieking and fleeing in horror from her room.
Meanwhile, Puri reeeeeeeeeaaally wants to read 2001: A Space Odyssey. Mainly because the other three Odyssey books by Arthur C. Clarke are in her school library, but 2001 isn't. And Puri doubts she'll find the other three Odysseys in different libraries. And it's paiiiiiiiinful. T-T And Puri is sad.

Date: 2005-10-20 12:44 am (UTC)Afterwards, both hedgehogs began to feel lonely. Sonic just didn't feel the same without Shadow, even with his friends around him. Since Shadow had banned anyone from seeing him at his treehouse, this left him feeling alone most of all. Feeling guilty, Shadow trudged with a gloomy outlook to Sonic's treehouse. To Shadow's surprise, Sonic was waiting for him. Sonic and Shadow hugged and apologized, and Sonic took down the sign so Shadow was once more allowed at the treehouse and they were friends again. Meanwhile, the Chaotix had taken over Shadow's old treehouse and used it for an Ice Cream Truck lookout.
THE END
So, how's this for fangirling? XDDD;;;
